It’s been a while. First off, I just wanted to thank you all for the constant support during these last several months. A lot of big changes happened in my life and I can’t thank you all enough for constantly sending messages and still even coming to this site.
Up until today’s announcement, the biggest change is that I moved away from my family and friends in Florida to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, for my first go at “adulting”. In December 2017, I accepted an offer to finally use my Communications and Political Science degrees to work as Broadcast Journalist at a local CBS station. I moved in January and I honestly couldn’t be happier.
Shockingly enough, that’s not the biggest change.
I’m excited to announce I am now adulting and it’s…
Been a ride?
Caused me to sprout our gray hairs?
Entertaining, to say the least. So much so that I’ve decided to move the blog in a different direction.
Before my last post in September, I spent the last three years with you talking about my college adventures and sharing some tips and tricks, while hearing about yours.
When I first started Coffee at Kayla’s, I was a Sophomore in college with tons of experiences to share and more to come that I would share. Now, I’m a Freshman in Adulting and—if you couldn’t tell by my difficulty in finding words to express my adulting—do I have some stories to share with you.
So on the newly revamped Coffee at Kayla’s, me sharing my wins and losses in adulting is exactly what you’ll find: stories, along with how to guides, downloadable lists, recipes, DIY activities, and tips & tricks for anyone looking to make the transition from wherever you were before to living on your own.
And hey, just because you may already have this whole adulting thing figured out, doesn’t mean you have to go. I may say something you never thought about, or…I could just tell you the real reason I want you to stay is to share your tips.
So if you’re ready to laugh, cry, relate, create, and eat, look on over to the right side re-subscribe with your name and e-mail address! Join the fun on our classic Facebook Page and revamped Twitter and Instagram accounts. I promise your Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays will…

Be a bit crazy?
Cause you to laugh at my gray hairs?
Entertaining, to say the least.
